Let’s be honest, dairy is delicious. I mean, who doesn’t love cheese sprinkled on practically everything? I haven’t eaten dairy in 10 years. (I’m allergic.)
But every time I tell someone I can’t have milk products, they look at me with a painful expression as if I just told them my puppy is dying.
Trust me, I wish I could come home after a bad day and eat a pint of full-fat dairy goodness. But I can’t. And, to be honest, it’s probably a blessing in disguise.
The truth is, aside from the obvious negative fact that cutting dairy alsomeans cutting key vitamins like calcium, eliminating milk products from your diet has proven to be quite beneficial.
You’ll have better skin.
Research shows the hormones in milk can be a major acne trigger. Cut the dairy, and you may find yourself using less concealer.
Your jeans will fit better.
If you have any sort of dairy sensitivity, you know very well the creamy substance often leads to bloating.
But even if you’re not within the 65 percent of the human population who has that struggle,the sugar in dairy is enough to keep your skinny jeans tight. Dairy contains sugar, which can often make it difficult to shed the pounds if you’ve hit a plateau in your weight-loss journey.
You’ll breathe better.
This is a bit of a controversial theory, but some evidence showscutting out dairy actually helps you breathe better. It may not be a perfect solution for asthma sufferers, but hey, it’s worth a shot.
Eliminating milk products from your diet may not be a solution for everyone. I get it, cheese is delicious.
But if you’re willing to find some creative substitutions for your favorite classic milk treats, you might be pleasantly surprised.
